Really nice and spacious casa with a very beautiful garden in a calm and private area. We enjoyed the fresh oranges from the garden and the private pool. Everything necessary was provided and Jan and Nere were very considerate hosts to make sure we don’t miss anything. It’s only a 15 minutes drive to the next supermarket in Silves which is a very pretty city nearby. We will be lucky to come back to this special place. 🙂

This place is a little hidden gem. So quiet, secluded, with loads of wildlife singing around, yet 10 minutes away from local markets, shops, and so on. House itself was pristine, clean, cosy, and well equipped, I could have stayed a month, and I wouldn’t need anything else. First place I’ve ever been that had moskitiers on every window and door, which was great as moskito love my blood. Great little pool with a pond next to it filled with life. It was great to go for a morning dip listening to nature. Jan and Nere are super hosts, always around to lend a hand with anything we needed. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who likes high-quality accommodation and nature.
Loveliest place we’ve ever been to so far! this snug home with the pool are an amazing place, that seeks its equal. we were completely astonished by it. The location is in the middle of nature, yet the house has everything that we needed to enjoy a few days of pure serenity, mindfulness, and exploration of nature’s beauty. it is the perfect spot to slow down, wake up with the sun, cook together in the evening, take a dip in the amazing nature pool, or just listen to the frogs in the night. besides the amazing outdoor space, the house itself is sweet and cozy as well. all the features and amenities are in super good condition and work perfectly fine. the wifi connection was perfectly stable and even all three of us could work simultaneously. in addition, supermarkets are close but the private vegetable and herbs garden is open for guests as well, which was amazing! we had fresh zucchini, onions and many more delicious, organic veggies. in conclusion, this is the most charming place ever and I would even prefer to keep it a sweet secret – we will definitely come back as soon as possible!

The best accommodation we have ever had! An incredibly great location in the middle of beautiful nature. Close to the beautiful historic town of Silves, and only about 20 minutes from the sea. A lovingly renovated farmhouse in the old country style, well equipped with all modern conveniences. We are so happy that we stayed here. It feels lika a little paradise! With the extremly nice garden, the orange trees and the juice every morning, the pool and the different outside areas you can really really relax. The Inside was just as wonderful, very comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen, big bathroom and even more space than we expected from the pictures. Everything was super clean and worked fine. The communication with Jan and Nere was very friendly and we got some good tips where to go. We would love to come back soon!
Beautiful house and gardens. Quiet and peaceful and we picked our own fruit and veg from the orchards and gardens. Jan was super helpful and waited up late for us to check in, he was always available to contact. We ate at some amazing local restaurants that there were cards for the in the villa. Would recommend to anyone, lovely relaxing week
This house was everything we hoped for and more! It is situated deep within nature with much privacy. It is very modern and has everything you need and even more! Totally worth it!

One of my favorite Airbnbs ever, and I have been to more than I can count over the past years. The spot is heavenly and removed from any sense of “busy,” but still just a short drive to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. No one could ever stay here and be disappointed.
Prachtige paradijselijke plek. Prachtig huis van alle gemakken voorzien en erg schoon en netjes. De gastheer en gastvrouw geven je een welkom gevoel. We zijn heerlijke paar dagen tot rust gekomen op dit plekje. Niks fijner dan in de ochtend te ontbijten in het heerlijke november zonnetje, de vogels te horen fluiten en de vlinders te zien vliegen. Deze prachtige plek is echt een aanrader om naar toe te gaan. Hartelijk dank voor alles!

Wat een geweldige week in jullie prachtihe huis! Helemaal genoten van jullie “optrekje” in een prachtige, rustige omgeving met luxe 3 terrassen maar liefst.
In Nederland zouden we stik jaloers zijn om zo iets te mogen bezzitten.

Wat voelen wij ons verrerd dat we als eerste in het nieuwe huis mocht logeren.
Jullie hebben prachtig werk geleverd. Het huis ziet er op en top uit. Vanaf het keukenraam prachtig uitzicht. Jullie hebben hier een klein paradijs.
We hebben, als eerdere vakanties, genoten van de mooie omgeving en het prachtige Silves.
Waarschijnlijk ontmoeten we elkaar weer snel, hopelijk volgend jaar.
Prachtig huis op n heel mooie plek. Zeer verzorgd en compleet. Fijne houtkachel voor voorjaar en najaar. Heerlijk terras en mooie natuur-zwemvijver. De ontvangst was hartelijk en we werden goed wegwijs gemaakt in het huis.Er waren absoluut geen gebreken, alles was perfect in orde.
Quinta do Arade is een unieke plek. Dankzij locale irrigatie is het een paradijselijke oase te midden van droge heuvels. Het is een oord met veel privacy met een heerlijk zwembadje met gezuiverd, niet gechloord, water. De ontvangst was hartelijk door Jan. Hij maakt ’s morgens vroeg het zwembad af en toe schoon en verteld graag over de huizen die door hem gerenoveerd zijn. Op het terrein staat nog een ander te huren huis en hun eigen huis. Desondanks zit je heel privé. Er zijn in de omgeving diverse uitstapjes te maken, de stranden zijn op een 20 minuten rijden.
We arriveerden met een koffer vol verwachtingen en vertrokken met een schat aan indrukken en herinneringen. Het is een zeer leuk en origineel vakantiehuis, alles is er voorhanden en de eigenaars zijn bijzonder vriendelijk en behulpzaam.
We spent a month at Jan and Nere’s place and could not have been happier with our stay. The house was cozy, comfortable and had everything you could possibly need. Our kids (and us!) loved the garden, such a peaceful and beautiful environment. Jan and Nere were great hosts and were always there for us if we needed anything. Highly recommended!

Het is even zoeken maar als je de routebeschrijving volgt ga je uiteindelijk een zandpad op en kom je bij de woning. Mooie bouw en meerdere zitjes op terrassen en bij het zwembad. Goed ingerichte keuken!! Goed bed en een meer dan goede douche. Kortom een mooi verblijf in een werkelijk prachtige omgeving.
Een geweldig huis wat met zorg en aandacht heel smaakvol is ingericht! Het zwembad en de tuin zijn super mooi. Locatie is heel rustig en iets afgelegen en vlakbij een mooi stuwmeer. De gastheer is meer dan behulpzaam. Top tijd gehad!
Hartelijk ontvangst. Omdat we laat aankwamen, had Jan ervoor gezorgd dat er wat eten in huis was zodat we de dag nadien rustig konden ontbijten. Rustig gelegen huis, middenin de natuur met zicht op een aquaduct. We hebben zelfs herten zien wandelen toen we op het terras zaten!
Een top adres, mooi aangelegde tuin met zwemvijver. Praktisch huis ingericht met oog voor detail. Veel privacy. Je wordt goed onthaald door Jan en Nere. Silves is ook de moeite om te bezoeken. Een adres om naar terug te keren.
Ein Stück vom Glück – Quinta do Arade ist ein Paradies. Morgens in dem sonnendurchfluteten liebevoll gestalteten Häuschen erwachen, Frühstück bei Vogelgesang und Bienensummen, frische Früchte von den Bäumen, eine Wanderung am nahegelegenen Stausee, eine kühle Erfrischung am Pool. Abends genüssliches Knistern des Kamins, kochen mit Kräutern aus dem Garten und Tagesausklang beim leisen Gesang von Fröschen um Kerzenschein auf der Terasse. Eine Oase der Ruhe die schöner und erholsamer nicht sein könnte. Bis ins Detail durchdacht, nachhaltig, wunderbar! Jan war stets erreichbar, hilfsbereit und gastfreundlich. Danke. Wie kommen wieder!
Super gastheer en vrouw, vriendelijk onthaald, zeer behulpzame en warme mensen. Prachtige plek in een prachtige streek. Het huis is kraaknet en authentiek gerestaureerd met toch alle voorzieningen. Aangename tuin met allemaal wat lekkers om van te snoepen Een absolute aanrader! Wij gaan zeker nog terug!
La casa es preciosa, llena de detalles. Limpísima y todo funcionando perfectamente. Muy cómoda, fresca en verano. La piscina natural es una maravilla. La casa está en una zona muy tranquila, rodeada de huertas de frutales. Todas las recomendaciones de Nereida nos encantaron. Es aún más bonita que en las fotos y la descripción es 100 % veraz. Gracias Nereida y Jan! Nos encantó la Quinta do Arade, un lugar sorprendente, precioso, lleno de detalles, se nota que está hecho con cariño y muy buen gusto. Qué decir del jardín, la huerta, la piscina y el lago, un placer para los sentidos. Lo pasamos genial en vuestro paraíso!!!
Stunning place we were lucky to call home for 3 nights at the end of our road trip around Portugal. The space itself is a beautiful designed eco home surrounded by nature that provided so much relaxation. Everything you need to cook a meal and more! So many lovely thoughtful touches that made the stay very comfortable. About a 10-15 minute drive to the main town of Silves where you can do all your shopping. 20-30 minutes to many many beaches. Thanks for a lovely stay!
Un séjour magique au milieu de la nature. Nous sommes parti en famille avec nos deux enfants. Jan est un super hôte, très serviable et toujours présent, il a sût répondre à toutes nos questions dans un parfait anglais. La maison est encore mieux que sur les photos et tout y est a dispositions. La piscine naturel était un bonheur pour toutes la famille. Il y a des ballades possible aux alentours dans les vergés ou aux abords du barrage très proche. Nous n’étions qu’à quelques minutes de Silves petite ville typique a visiter absolument. Un magnifique restaurant si trouve O Barradas a faire pour sa carte de poisson frais. A peine quelques kilomètres plus loin vous avez lagoa avec Parc aquatique, supermarchés, plages et restaurants. Nous sommes resté 3 semaines chez Jan et en gardons un très bon souvenir et souhaitons à tout le monde de découvrir ce petit éden portugais.
Without question one of our best airbnb experiences! This beautiful place is super well maintained, set in a gorgeous natural surrounding and offers absolute privacy and tranquility! In real-life its even nicer than on the pictures. The natural pool was definitely a highlight. We only left a couple of times for dinner to Silves, because the place was so nice. Thanks Jan and Nere for sharing this hidden gem!
I only have positive to say about this accommodation! The house was built with great attention to details and it has a real authentic character, outside as inside. Our big highlight was of course the incredible natural pool we could enjoy there. The only advice I would give travelers is having a rental car, so you can explore the surroundings and enjoy the landscapes and different activities.
Die Zeit bei Jan war wirklich großartig – ein tolles Haus, ein schöner Garten (leider war es für den Pool zu kalt : ) und ein fabelhafter Gastgeber – besser kann man es kaum treffen! Tausend Dank und wir sind wild entschlossen wiederzukommen! : )
Das Haus ist wundervoll und der Garten ein absoluter Traum. Der Pool im Sommer und der Gemüse- und Obstgarten sind ein Plus, das wir nicht nutzen konnten, wir müssen wohl zu einer anderen Jahreszeit wiederkommen. Obwohl… der Mandarinenbaum vor der Tür trägt reichlich Früchte. Wir haben die Tage sehr genossen, auch im Winter kann man die Algarve herrlich bereisen. Der klare Himmel und das viele Licht haben uns gutgetan. Jan und Nere sind tolle Gastgeber. Jan hat uns eingecheckt und Nere ist extra noch einmal vorbeigekommen, um sich vorzustellen und zu fragen ob alles in Ordnung ist. Bitte auf jeden Fall Silves ansehen, eine sehr schöne Stadt mit reichtlich tollen Cafés.
